Funds are specifically used

• To pay staff who are trained in bird rescue to man popular state and local fishing piers in order to quickly rescue and release hooked birds before the line is cut or broken.

• To create a network of volunteers who will walk along busy piers and educate tourists and interested fishermen about how to properly remove a hook from a bird.

• To rent boats for rescues in areas on water

• To host events for public awareness and education
